Corporate Training
SES offers training on several topics to teammembers to keep them current with SES policies and expectations as a SES Teammember. Most of these training/orientation are faciliatated on annual basis, however, teammembers are highly encouraged to navigate the training material on their own and contact respective training owners if they have any questions or suggestions.

CMMI Training
SES has adopted Software Engineering Institutes (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) model for process improvement. SES had established Process Management Group (PMG) to establish, improve, support, train and implement both CMMI specific practices and general process improvement opportunities. SES’s Focus and Commitment to Quality is driven by securing the future with stability in the competitive market share. Focusing on defined, mature, repeatable processes minimizes the risk of losing loyal customers. PMG establishes documented policies, standards, and procedures.

  • Policies: Provide direction from management that define the workbench of the work task, activity, problems, and function.

  • Standards: The standards are a specific statement of rules, constraints and requirements to be followed to achieve a particular objective by the worker. The measure used to evaluate products and identify nonconformance. The basis upon which adherence to policies are measured.

  • Procedure: A standardized series of steps followed in a regular definite order to accomplish a particular objective.

PMG oversees the following

  • Training the CMMI and its process areas.
  • Pursuing process improvements.
  • Maintaining the Process Asset Library (PAL).
  • Assisting projects, particularly in understanding and tailoring processes from the PAL.
  • The PMG supports teams and projects by helping them implement SES processes.
  • The PMG collects metrics from teams and projects to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • The PMG is responsible for approving all processes and artifacts before being promoted to the SES PAL.
  • Process Improvement Recommendations are submitted to the PMG for review and approval.

  • CMMI Orientation: The CMMI Orientation for All is to be attended by all team members. This training will be facilitated every quarter. Team members are expected to attend this as per their schedule.
  • Other CMMI Helpful Documents: Other documents that CMMI Process Area Cheat Sheet go along with the CMMI Orientation slides are.
  • CMMI for Project Managers: The CMMI Orientation for TM/PM is to be attended by all Team Mangers and Project Managers. Team managers and project managwers are expected to attend this as per their schedule.
  • CMMI for Project Technical Staff: The CMMI Orientation for Engineering project staff is to be attended by all Team Members. Team members are expected to attend this as per their schedule.

  • SES Training Attendance and Evaluation Forms

  • Training Attendance Sheet: This is for remote attendees only. TM/PM of remote teams can print the attendance sheet and list names of people attending the training and please e-mail Brittany Bridges after the training is delivered.
  • Training Evaluation Sheet: All training attendees are to complete and submit the evaluation sheet within two weeks after they have attended the training. Completed Evaluation Forms are to be e-mailed to Brittany Bridges.
  • Post CMMI Training Quiz Instructions: All training attendees are to complete and submit the Quiz within two weeks after they have attended the training.
  • Training Attendance Sheet for the CMMI for PM class: This is for remote attendees only. TM/PM of remote teams can print the attendance sheet and fill it and please e-mail Brittany Bridges after the training is delivered.
